"...if you haven't picked up every one of the Blue Note and Nat King Cole reissues from Chad Kassem and company at Acoustic Sounds, you're really missing out!" - David W. Robinson, Positive Feedback

Jordan and Gilmore were big guns in Chicago and unknown elsewhere when they made this album with the dream team of

Horace SilverCurly Russell and Art Blakey. Jordan would become a kingpin of the New York hard bop scene and Gilmore would immerse himself in the world of Sun Ra, but these tenor masters were completely in sync for this great Blue Note session.

Incredible Jazz Records + the original analog master tapes + cut at 45 RPM + mastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman at AcousTech + pressed on two 180-gram virgin vinyl LPs by RTI = THE ULTIMATE LP REISSUE!

The same formula that made the Fantasy 45 Series perhaps the most successful audiophile reissue collection ever is now being reapplied to Blue Note reissues!

Two tenor saxophone legends shake hands: while Cliff Jordan made a name for himself in the hardbob scene, John Gilmore turned to the world of Sun Ra. For the session at Blue Note, they have the Grand Master Horace Silver, Curly Russell and Art Blakey added to the album "Blowing In From Chicago". Although they both play the same instrument, it quickly becomes clear that they make very different music: Gilmore's style is usually reminiscent of an alto saxophone (very high), Jordan's tone is gentler and much deeper. This contrast shapes the album from beginning to end. The jazz jazz "Status Quo" at the beginning of the record testifies to perfect interaction and solo skills. It also includes the well-known modern jazz standard "Blue Lights" as well as the highlight "Everywhere", the "Blowing In From Chicago" decides. Get an exceptional jazz recording in your living room.
Sonically beyond any doubt.
