Hi-Fi News' Album Choice for February 2016!   "Columbia recordings of this period are audiophile nectar, but this live set from the 9th of June 1962 transcends the norm by so wide a margin that it ought to be a demo standard. Yet that would be to disrespect its real worth: the music. Bennett's performance is so heartfelt, so joyous, so suave, that you'll wish you were there. It's enough to be thankful that you can own it for less than a bottle of Le Serre Nuove. Twenty-eight magnificent songs, including his signature ode to San Francisco, all delivered with utter panache and perfect accompaniment: you'll jump when you hear Candido's congas-and-bongos solo in 'Ol' Man River.' My father always said that Tony Bennett could out-sing Sinatra. Here's proof." — Sound Quality = 94% — Ken Kessler, HiFi News, February 2016

You'll be transported, entertained, wowed and amazed by both Bennett's and the orchestra's performances and the sonic documentation. It goes without saying that this is highly recommended, but I said it anyway. Sound 11/10 Music 10/10 Michael Fremmer Analogue Planet

This is it, the live, double LP where the magical Tony Bennett created indelible memories! Tony Bennett at Carnegie Hall is the Tony Bennett album to buy for any Bennett fan or those just introduced to his music. And you'll never hear or experience it presented in finer fashion than from this outstanding reissue by Analogue Productions

Analogue Productions has given Tony Bennett at Carnegie Hall the deluxe reissue treatment. Starting with premier mastering by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog tapes. But it doesn't stop there: they've expanded and enhanced the original studio photography, which was supplied by Sony to their graphic designers.

Originally recorded in 1962, Tony Bennett at Carnegie Hall is a testament to Bennett's live vocal ability, writes AllMusic.com. Backed by the Ralph Sharon Orchestra, Bennett moves far beyond his standard musical catalogue.

Along with standards like "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" and "Just in Time," Bennett reached out to create great medleys such as "(I Like New York in June) How About You/April in Paris," that automatically become his as soon as they are performed. Altogether there are 28 tracks on the album. Most remarkable is the clarity of the recording of the concert. If not for the tremendous applause of the audience, you could swear that Bennett had recorded each track in the studio. A masterpiece!

Tony Bennett has long reminded me of Bruce Springsteen, physically and vocally. If you don't get the connection Bennett's song/story closer here "De Glory Road" will make it.

This reissue is incredible in every way, starting with the cover art. The laminated cover's front and back photos are of far higher resolution and quality than the ones on the original. The same is true of the inside cover photos that include the full wide orchestra shot cropped on the original. But most importantly, the mastering by Ryan K. Smith from the original 3-track master tapes is nothing short of astonishing. It offers proof to anyone who will listen, both that AAA vinyl kills any digital format and that the art of recording, especially live recording, reached its pinnacle during the '50's and '60's.
