Clearaudio's showcase project of a Fritz Wunderlich trilogy, goes into his third round. Now "Der Oratoriensänger" appeared, so 
the circle closes . 

While the works of the Baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann and Johann Rosenmüller lead the listener to the entrance into perhaps less well-known fields of the spiritual music follow with two excerpts from Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas oratorio and Joseph Haydn's "The Creation" two of the most popular sacred works of music history. The latter is the absolute highlight of this LP: from this famous piece of Haydn, excerpts of the Livemitschnitt (Mono) from the Salzburg Festival in 1965 can be heard. 
The excellent ensemble under the direction of Herbert von Karajan was one of the most outstanding ensembles in the performance history of the work. Wunderlich was a tenor of world class. When the twenty-five-year-old, for the first time, stood next to his already famous colleague Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, this was an experience for the colleague, which he still remembers today: "I was almost frightened by hearing Voice had an enchanting enchantment, and yet the necessary granulate in the sound, as German tenors had long since ceased to hear. "
