The duo of Duettango, Filippo Arlia and Cesare Chiacchiaretta, pays tribute to Argentinian composer, bandoneon player, and arranger Astor Piazzolla with these twelve tracks. Piazzolla revolutionized the traditional tango into a new style termed 'nuevo tango', incorporating elements from jazz and classical music.

When Giulio Cesare asked me to write an introductory note for this album, I instantly thought of how Duettango was born. It came about by chance, out of a personal ambition in 2010 at the Nocera Terinese, between two piano lessons in the rooms of the Conservatory. My idea was to combine two instruments which at first sight have very little in common, such as the piano and the bandoneon. Up until Astor Piazzolla’s creation, these have always been elements of a sextet or a quartet, where the piano sadly plays a secondary part while the bandoneon constantly and exclusively converses with the violin. This recording wishes to prove that the piano and the bandoneon can interact splendidly, and if it is necessary they can have a dialogue with the violin or the voice without giving up their virtuosity and an important musical presence. I end this with two thoughts that will always follow me whenever I listen to this album: the first is an homage to Piazzolla, a composer to whom my career as a pianist and musician already owes a lot in many ways; the second is for Fernando Suarez Paz, because being able to play Escualo with the violinist to whom Astor dedicated these extraordinary pages was one of the most meaningful moments of my life.

recording on July 10, 2015 at Teatro Comunale di Pianello Val Tidone, Italy.

The music of Argentinean Tango king Astor Piazzolla has particularly impressed Giulio Cesare Ricci, and so on his label Fone there are always high-quality publications with music Piazzolla. On "Duettango", it is a high-caliber quartet that makes the Tango Nuevo sound: the center is the violinist Fernando Suarez Paz, who played Nuevo Tango together with Piazzolla in the Quartet. Next to him we hear his daughter Cecilia, whose singing is in no way inferior to the play of her father. Now you need a Bandoneon player for the Tango, And on this record, Cesare Chiachiaretta is one of the best in the world. Then with Filippo Arlia a classically trained pianist, and you have a tremendously emotional and virtuosic tango formation, captured by Ricci in excellent Kangqualität. Great Record!

Duettango are joined by Fernando Suarez Paz on the violin, and his daughter Ceckilia Suarez Paz on vocals.

Duet Tango features pianist Filippo  Arlia along with Cesare Chiacchiaretta, bandoneon; Fernando Suarez Paz, violin; and Ceckilia Suarez Paz, vocals.

The story of fonè

In the context of classical and jazz music market, fonè proposes three decades of recordings using advanced techniques, aimed at the recovery of the original musical atmospheres.
Each new recording is the result of a passionate encounter between art and the art of execution and aims to recreate and reproduce the same spirit with which the works of the past have been performed. One basic feature that makes the difference between fonè and others, is the recording of musical works in natural places and original, constant production that leads to choose from time to time historically more space? Suitable for: church, theater, villa, living room ...

All this is done by retrieving a simple incision that does not do violence to the music: all the equipment is in high definition. Using pairs of valves Neumann microphones in the years 1947 and 1949 (U47, U48 and M49) using techniques very natural timbre bimicrofoniche field effect. These microphones have an important story: they are the microphones used to record the Beatles at Abbey Road Studio and RCA for the "Living Stereo."

No use is made of electronic manipulation of the signal, nor any artificial correction that if they make a sound easier to carve, it is true that distort so unacceptable. With this method you get to transfer the music information on the standard analog for the production of virgin vinyl 180g &  200g

fonè uses for the standard analog Nagra 4S, Studer C37 and J37 and Ampex ATR 102, the standard for digital, in collaboration with Philips the DSD (Direct Stream Digital) technology that has opened the doors to the SACD. For all subsequent stages of processing and control, in which it must be a playback of the sound reproduction systems are used very sophisticated.

After the pressing demands of the enthusiast market and after a long series of investigations to ensure the best possible support, the virgin vinyl 180/200 grams, fonè now makes available its most prestigious titles in the LP format.
strong opposition to current trends in the multinational market, tending to offer a product that is increasingly homogenized and devoid of content.
