Nagaoka JT322MD CD-4 Quad Discrete 4-Channel Moving Magnet Cartridge MM
JT-322 is a hand model in the production of the Japanese manufacturer of phono cartridges. It is indeed equipped with a diamond Shibata specifically built for playing discs quadraphonic CD-4 (compatible Discrete 4) also called Quadradisques .
The CD-4 standard was adopted by some publishers following the invention in 1971 by JVC and RCA of a discrete quadraphonic recording system. A full quadraphonic CD-4 system includes a turntable equipped with a compatible cell as the cell Nagaoka JT-322 , CD-4 demodulator, amplifier 4 discrete channels and 4 speakers bandwidth.
JT-322 is thus characterized by the ability to play back discs recorded on 4 discrete channels. It adopts a reinforced plastic shell and a shield case against magnetic interference. The moving equipment consists of a powerful magnet, a boron cantilever and a Shibata type of diamond tip, offering a very wide frequency response, low distortion and precise tracking of the groove
