The fourth release from the fantastic direct-cut series of Bauer Studios and the label Neuklang convinces everything from the series through the courage to the experimental. The Ropesh is a young jazzcombo that, unlike many jazz-aged contemporaries, does not claim to be able to know and to know everything, but who is looking for new sounds and possibilities, and with a lot of energy. In the live concert at Bauernstudios, the band plays with electric bass, drums, piano, flute, trombone and sparing but effective electronic effects. The jazz created by the quintet is an exciting postmodern kaleidoscope of musical influences ranging from swing and modern jazz to industrial and punk to reggae and hip hop. However, that the band will never lose the sense of a rousing and deeply swinging groove.
