With the famous musicians a memorable concert on vinyl. The Richie Beirach European Quartet shows its ability to play its songs and to reinterpret classics into something completely new. Together with the renowned musicians Gregor Hübner (violin), Veit Hübner (double bass) and Michael Kersting (drums), Richie Beirach (piano) brings a very special live concert on record.

Beirach , who recorded his first solo albums at Bauer Studios in the late seventies, returns to Ludwigsburg for this concert. In addition to Beirach's compositions, the four musicians have also selected pieces for their repertoire that have been created in close collaboration with Gregor Hübner . The Richie Beirach European Quartet is able to embed these pieces, as well as classics into a whole new look, on this record.

Richie Beirach - Piano
Gregor Huebner - Violin
Veit Huebner - Contrabass
Michael Kersting - Percussion

The recording was made on October 6, 2015 by Johannes Wohlleben in Studio 1 of Bauer Studios, Ludwigsburg.

Already at the age of six, the pianist Richie Beirach, born in Brooklyn in 1947, began playing the classical pianoforte, but when he got to hear Miles Davis and John Coltrane one day, his interest in jazz was aroused. He studied at the Berklee College of Music, Boston, at the Manhattan School of Music, New York, and later joined Stan Getz. During his career, he worked with Freddie Hubbard, Lee Konitz, or Chet Baker and was a member of the Jazzrock Formation Quest for over ten years. Finally, Beirach was settled in Leipzig and taught from 2000 to 2014 as professor jazz piano at the College of Music

. His latest album, recorded live in front of the audience at Ludwigsburger Bauernstudios, reflects the many facets of his work. The instrumentation with violin seems unorthodox for a jazz quartet, but precisely this - masterly played by Gregor Huebner, sometimes even percussive - is an important part of the magic of this recording. The selection of the songs is another, as well as self-compositions, jazz jewels such as "Peace Piece" by Bill Evans or "Transition" by John Coltrane, a classical composition by Bach ("Siciliana") and an improvisation to a bagatelle by Bartok. The virtuosic interplay of the four musicians is admirable, their sense of nuances almost eerie. That this is also to be heard on vinyl is due to the sound engineer Johannes Wohlleben, who succeeded here for the new sound label as part of his studio concert series a true audiophile masterpiece. Jazz can not sound better. Richie Beirach's "Studio Concert"

The album comes in hinged cover on 180g-heavy audiophile vinyl, was pressed at Pallas Germany and is limited and consecutive numbered.
