This time, in the studio concert in the Bauer Studios, two musicians with "jazz" were inadequately described: drummer Bernhard Schimpelsberger is also an expert on Indian music, Chris Gall played alongside electro pop and jazzrock Tango with Quadro Nuevo and now the two former bandmates are working together for an original duo project: piano and percussion.  What initially sounds like an incomplete instrumentation opens unimagined possibilities: the piano becomes a rhythm instrument, a lot of percussive instruments make the drums sometimes a melodic bearer - two very different instruments intertwine here undreamed. Particularly exciting in this live direct section are the compositions of Drummer Schimpelsberger - here all genre boundaries are blown up.

"The studio concerts of Neuklang have always impressed the audience with what great recording techniques are capable of.

Chris Gall - piano
Bernhard Schimpelsberger - drums, percussion

Drums and piano as a duo - a rather unusual cast. Chris Gall on the piano and Bernhard Schimpelsberger on the percussions played together in the band "Taalism"; Then their paths separated for almost ten years. While Bernhard Schimpelsberger immersed himself deeply into the world of Indian rhythm in London and India, and toured around the world with famous Indian musicians such as Anoushka Shankar and Akram Khan ,  Chris Gall, with his pianist and soloist, predominantly pursues bizarre, jazz-rocking paths Has been on tour for two years as a guest musician of the successful formation Quadro Nuevo .

For a STUDIO CONCERT at Bauer Studios, the two artists met again. The unusual duo combination allows the musicians to enter very quickly and directly, to abandon the usual roles of their instruments and to exchange themselves in a constant change. Thus the piano changes from the originally melodic, harmonious game into a rhythm instrument and takes over the grooves of the drums. Through specially made percussion instruments, such as the Garrapata, Bernhard Schimpelsberger again dedicates the melodic function and fuses his own with the piano.

The result is a fascinating symbiosis and an exciting dialogue of jazz, Minimal music and world music with impressionistic piano sounds and subtle rhythms of various percussion instruments. A concert experience of rhythm, in which the poetry and complexity of Indian music meets the elements of Western music! The recordings are purely analogous and live on vinyl!
