Music On Vinyl - MOVLP2371- Limited Edition - 180 Gram Virgin Vinyl
Before Weldon Irvine became known as a musician himself, he served as the bandleader for jazz singer Nina Simone. On his 1976 album Sinbad he's exploring the extremes of his music capabilities. The energetic grooves he brought together with Don Blackman, guitarist Eric Gale, and saxophonist Michael Brecker. He's mixing original songs with covers by Marvin Gaye (“What's Goin' On”) and Stevie Wonder (“Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing”).
Afterwards, Irvine found further success in writing musical stage production, leaving this album behind as one of his best recordings.
