Debut album from John Hassall and The April Rainers. John Hassall is better known as the bass player from The Libertines. John Hassall and The April Rainers is classic summery pop songs mixed with endearing harmonies, jangly guitars and rootsy bass and drum arrangements. The Rainers sound very pastoral and English. Their debut album Wheels to Idyll is about a psychedelic train journey into the country and was produced by Kalle Guatafsson (The Sountrack of Our Lives) and recorded at his “analogue haven” Svenske Grammofon Studion in Gothenburg, Sweden.
