You can leave radiate this concert as Heifetz, one can hardly expect to be downsides show how Kogan - Michael Rabin, at the time of recording 22 years old, it is pure beauty of sound. Rabin's immensely intense tone seems to melt steel like butter in the sun; Adrian Boult's tempered tempi allow him time for his vocal lines, where one must always think of Belcanto arias from the splendor of Italian opera. Rabin can live his legendary technique in the two over-the-top, highly virtuosic concertos - and he is doing it with audible pleasure, as the "Tzigane" opening solo reveals: the joy of playing lies in every tone and is almost infectious! - Even the original pressing was praised by Gramophone magazine in the review of November in 1958 for the warm as well as precise sound: This can only underline these Testament Reissue!  LP Magazine

RAVEL Tzigane. Michael Rabin, Philharmonia Orchestra / Sir Adrian Boult

Michael Rabin managed to be one of the most talented and tragic violin virtuosi of his generation. He never reached the age of 36, yet remains one of the most fondly remembered of virtuoso violinists for listeners and fellow musicians. In the 1950s, Rabin signed with Capitol-EMI, for which he recorded the most important part of his legacy
