2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the start of Coltrane's career on New York's legendary independent label Prestige Records. This edition includes a book with rare photographs, marked with recording dates and locations, discographies and long notes by Coltrane expert Ashley Khan.
All music included here was mastered from the latest and most up-to-date official sources. It includes the participation of superhero musicians such as Freddie Hubbard, Kenny Burrell, Tommy Flanagan, Red Garland, Donald Byrd, Art Taylor, Jimmy Cobb and Paul Chambers. Produced by Bob Weinstock and Rudy Van Gelder as a sound engineer at the famous Hackensack Studios, New Jersey.
It includes material taken from Coltrane's classic albums such as Soultrane, Kenny Burrell & John Coltrane, Lush Life and Bahia, highlighting the famous interpretations of 'Lush Life', 'Spring Is Here', 'Lover', 'Good Bait' Stardust 'and' Love Thy Neighbor '.
