Tonality is exceptionally good and it rarely sounds anything other than utterly believable and very assured." 'Hi-Fi Choice - Recommended'
6Moons - Conclusion. While they were fun in my roughly 30m² space with 3.4m ceiling about 1 meter removed from the front wall, the Elipson Planet L clearly doesn’t belong to the voluptuous bass-endowed specimens of the compact speaker art. Their low-impact footprint and size are tailor-made for either close-wall or shelf placement to achieve some bass augmentation from boundary effects; or by adding a subwoofer.
During my space-challenged student days I would have loved to own such sonic balls which eliminate any chances of room boom; which work beautifully at very short distances; and which besides fulfilling audiophile criteria simply look cool to boot. If you appreciate a lively uncomplicated long-term friendly presentation with audiophile smatterings of transparent mids, dynamics and soundstaging, the Elipson Planet L in their price class could hit the proverbial bull’s eye
A tonally lighter balance with a nonetheless exemplary integrated, agreeable and involving presentation that doesn’t turn trying in the long run.
An incisive dynamic flair with obvious limitations of macrodynamic bass power.
A very accurate midband whose upper range is slightly more present than dead neutral.
A fundamentally well resolved stress-free treble which merely misses a tad of sheen/air and the final tracking of the finest of decays.
Absolutely first-rate soundstaging where speaker localization as apparent sound sources becomes impossible and image lock is exemplary.
Fit ‘n’ finish beyond criticism.
Compact, attractive, and unabashedly audiophile
Planet L is the revival version of the Elipson spherical speaker combining high-end designs and meticulous aesthetics. As the result of 2 years of R&D efforts, Elipson has retained the best acoustic technologies for the best sound without compromise. Our Planet L speakers are fitted with a coaxial 2-way speaker that make the perfect mix of high fidelity, elegance and design. Available in three laquer finishes: Black, Red and White.
This is a brilliant product that will perform with elegance and boldness.
There is much to like about this system. Elipson has put in a considerable amount of effort and the result is a clever satellite that’s unfussy in terms of placement and, thanks to the various mounting options, easy to accommodate.
The dual concentric drivers give a
rich and natural performance that is likeable and suited to a wide range of material. In fact, they outshine the subwoofer, which gives some ground to other designs but still does a creditable job. If you’re looking for
a system with both a striking appearance and impressive sonics, this should be on your shortlist. HIFI Choice

Conclusion Dismissing these as interior design items would be a big mistake. Granted, they are pretty, but they also sound as good as you can expect a speaker of this price and size to sound. Owners of enormous listening rooms and fans of hard rock need to look elsewhere, but for the rest of us these are just wonderful, captivating loudspeakers. They are especially good at reproducing a realistic soundstage and simply outstanding with voices. More designed to be refined and relaxing than to be loud and imposing, they are an absolute joy to listen to (and to behold) and easily get my highest recommendation. TNT Audio
