Reviews The result of this intimate recording is deeply impressive." (LP-Magazin, 2/2017)

If duets pairing double bass and female jazz vocals have become more widely accepted since the days when Sheila Jordan struggled to find work with that lineup, that may be because more people have realized how lovely bass and voice can sound together. Helping the cause is Musica Nuda, whose eponymous 2004 debut album quickly found an audience; since then Petra Magoni (vocals) and Ferrucio Spinetti (bass) have been a steady concert draw. Their ninth album, Little Wonder, almost acts as a travel guide, visiting Jamaica (a nice reading of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love”) and the U.S. (the best redo of Bill Withers “Ain’t No Sunshine” I’ve heard in some time) before exploring Western and Eastern Europe and South America through material written and/or performed by Chico Buarque, Gianni Morandi, Edith Piaf, and others. As you may have guessed by now, Musica Nuda tend to take songs originally not in the jazz idiom and perform them in a jazz-inflected style. There’s never a sense of strain as they bounce from genre to genre, and Magoni’s sometimes playful vocals and Spinetti’s fluid bass lines receive the warm analog touch on Foné’s vinyl release. The Absolute Sound

Ferruccio Spinetti - double bass
Petra Magoni - singing

Musica Nuda is a small Italian band with a truly unusual line-up: only singing (Petra Magoni) and double bass (Ferruccio Spinetti) can be heard here. Even more unusual is that this combo in Italy has brought to a considerable success: your self-titled debut album was sold a whopping 15000 times there. The "Little Wonder" published in 2015 is already the eighth album of the duo. Eleven Coversongs are assembled there, from Sting and Bill Withers to Bob Marley to Paolo Conte and Edith Piaf, original and with restrained overdubbing groovy and surprisingly versatile and varied arranged. For the vinyl edition produced by Fone, Giulio Cesare Ricci got mastering from the original bands, Of course, in a purely analogous way. Warm and full sound, and pop classics you've never heard of!

First published 28 August 2006 at Warner Italy.
Mastering by Giulio Cesare Ricci on a 1/2 inch Studioband machine Ampex ATR 102 with 76 cm / s.

After two years after the previous album, the duo Musica Nuda is presented again on the international music scene with a new project that puts a seal on a long twelve years career and successful ..

The title is the synthesis of Musica Nuda, ie, a small wonder. Presumption that we did not choose this title - declare Petra and Ferruccio - but the rediscovery of our uniqueness with the same enthusiasm that today, like all ' beginning of our artistic career, distinguishes what we do . " Little Wonder" is above all a gift that we have done to ourselves.

"Little Wonder" was born, in fact, as a natural response to the desire to recapture the intimate dimension which is the essence of their duo Petra and Ferruccio, vocals and bass.

Joined on stage at the Theatre of San Casciano (SI) the disc celebrating their steel artistic collaboration, confirming listening freshness ever. The album opens with "Is This Love" in which, for the first time, the duo approaches the reggae of Bob Marley, here totally transformed into a song with walking bass ; follows "Is not no sunshine" by Bill Withers, that interpretation of Petra and Ferruccio gets a new light.

In the eleven tracks are content even newer songs like "Practical Arrangement" Sting, a "modern classic" and shining example of sophisticated pop. There are, as always, the references to the song of Italian and foreign author, the latter worthily represented by "In the cold cold" Vladimir Vysotsky and "Quand il est mort the poète" by Gilbert Bécaud. Among the interpretations of famous pieces of Italian tradition stands out a new version of "Same beach, same sea" sung in French and entitled "Quand Tout s'arrange on s'aime", a divertissement that shines for verve and personality. The same happens with "An old" by Paolo Conte and error with "I am half", original song of the repertoire of Musica Nuda, here reinterpreted in a very different version.

In "You're cool dad", Petra and Ferruccio dig with tenderness and irony in their childhood memories, while in 'Far nothing' by Chico Buarque, host Nicola Stilo on guitars and flutes, rereading a great classic of song Brazilian. The album closes with an intense version of "La Vie en Rose" by Edith Piaf when the duo returns, with the beauty of the singing and the refinement of the arrangement, a second life.

The story of fonè

In the context of classical and jazz music market, fonè proposes three decades of recordings using advanced techniques, aimed at the recovery of the original musical atmospheres.
Each new recording is the result of a passionate encounter between art and the art of execution and aims to recreate and reproduce the same spirit with which the works of the past have been performed. One basic feature that makes the difference between fonè and others, is the recording of musical works in natural places and original, constant production that leads to choose from time to time historically more space? Suitable for: church, theater, villa, living room ...

All this is done by retrieving a simple incision that does not do violence to the music: all the equipment is in high definition. Using pairs of valves Neumann microphones in the years 1947 and 1949 (U47, U48 and M49) using techniques very natural timbre bimicrofoniche field effect. These microphones have an important story: they are the microphones used to record the Beatles at Abbey Road Studio and RCA for the "Living Stereo."

No use is made of electronic manipulation of the signal, nor any artificial correction that if they make a sound easier to carve, it is true that distort so unacceptable. With this method you get to transfer the music information on the standard analog for the production of virgin vinyl 180g &  200g

fonè uses for the standard analog Nagra 4S, Studer C37 and J37 and Ampex ATR 102, the standard for digital, in collaboration with Philips the DSD (Direct Stream Digital) technology that has opened the doors to the SACD.
