Max Bruch: Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op.26 / Alexander Glazunov: Violin Concerto In A Minor, Op.82 - Erica Morini (v) and the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin under the baton of Ferenc Fricsay
Two lyrical masterpieces of the Romantic Violin Concerto repertoire were recorded here in a warm, generous, relaxed atmosphere that suits them perfectly. The sound is good in both mono and stereo, with the solo violin standing out well from the orchestra. What gives the stereo recording preference here is to give the sound more breadth and eliminate a slight feeling of being locked in, which in the monophonic version is mediated by the too dominant solo microphone. - High Fidelity
Erica Morini plays in exactly the right style - gentle and tender, without trying to overemotionalize or magnify grandly; this is a wonderful recording. - Gramophone
