Claude Debussy - Preludes, Premier Livre
Gerhard Oppitz - Piano
Recordings 17th & 18th October 2006 in Reitstadel in Neumarkt, Oberpfalz.
At first briefly to the person of Gerhard Oppitz: Born in Frauenau in 1953, he won the Arthur Rubinstein piano competition in Tel Aviv in 1977. In 1981 he became the youngest professor at the Munich College of Music, and as a pianist, he has performed world-wide in reputable orchestras. Now Peter Suchy of Clearaudio succeeded in winning this first-rate artist for a recording of Debussy's Preludes. With a result that should fascinate every classic lover. In any case in terms of sound, not only because of the realistic representation of the wing, but also because of the inclusion of the space (here the excellent acoustics of the riding stables). But the performance of Gerhard Oppitz, which demonstrates his exceptional skills on the piano, is particularly impressive. The Preludes of Debussy, divided into twelve pieces each, came into being at the end of the middle and in the last period of the French. Anecdotes, impressions, episodes, pictures, poems: all this flowed into the wonderful, impressionistic pieces. Folding cover with German Linernotes.
