Cherry is the 1972 studio album by jazz saxophonist Stanley Turrentine, who was described by critics as “renowned for his distinctively thick, rippling tone and earthy grounding in the blues”.
Turrentine recorded the album together with jazz/bebop vibraphonist Milt Jackson and is produced by CTI founder Creed Taylor. For the recordings of Cherry, Turrentine and Jackson were accompanied by pianist Bob James, guitarist Cornell Dupree, bassist Ron Carter and Bill Cobham on drums.
