With Franck Tortiller on the vibraphone, Patrice Héral on the drums and Matthias Debus on the double bass, she comes very close to this ideal of polystillistic openness, and the two French musicians have their share in this: While Patrice Héral dissolves the boundaries between groove and swing, that one time rocking the backbeat and falling into an elegant swing elsewhere, which cannot be distorted even by odd time signatures and which brings in an earthy note as a vocal artist on the digital delay, the bell sound of Franck Tortiller's handling of the vibraphone liquefies the harmonious spaces and opens up unimagined spaces for Lehmler's play with the potential of the melody.
