Stylus protection system

Ortofon styli have a stylus guard which is designed to be easily replaced and removed without risking contact to the fragile stylus assembly. Stylus protection guard help to limit stylus damage if the cartridge accidentally slides across a record or if the cartridge is dropped onto the record.

All Ortofon cartridges, whether bought as an accessory or supplied pre-fitted to a turntable, have some form of stylus protection unit.

The stylus is one of the most fragile and exposed elements of a phono cartridge, so keeping it safe and clean from dust and other external hazards is essential.
