Deep Modern Jazz From Japan 1969-1984 brought much light into the era, which is regarded as the golden age of the Japanese jazz scene. A key experience was one of the rarest and least well known pieces:"Dead Letter by the Tohru Aizawa Quartet. It's from an album that was so hard to find that some doubted it even existed.

Here is the proof: The album "Tachibana" was recorded in 1975. The privately pressed record was the quartet's only album. The recording and pressing was financed by a businessman, Ikujiroh Tachibana, who gave away only a few records. In the more than 40 years since the recording hardly any copies have emerged, which made the LP one of the hottest rarities. The re-release of this holy grail was licensed by the band itself.
