Luscious sound quality from beautiful analog tape and one step mastering - LP Review

Not much needs to be said about this one. So many of his greatest songs are here. Tracks one through 14 were all originally recorded on analog multi-track magnetic tape in formats ranging from one-inch eight track to two-inch 24 track. In each case, after the recording process was completed, these multi-track master tapes were mixed to 1/4-inch stereo two-channel at 15 IPS analog master tapes.

At that time, these tapes were among those assembled onto two sequenced LP master reels which were then used to cut the metal lacquers from which two sides of the original vinyl LPs were ultimately pressed. These same two-channel masters were used for this project. Simply put, the goal was to achieve as accurate and detailed an extraction of the original audio signal as possible.
